The owner of this contract work slave very sensibly allows him to wear sandals when on the customer’s site.  It’s well known that injuries to feet on construction sites cause more loss of time than any other - the inevitable dropped nails, pieces of broken glass and even sharp stones can break the skin of even the most tough sole.

Note however that the slave is of course otherwise naked, and has been severely cropped of his head and pubic hair.  Like most construction slaves he works this way - especially in the warmer weather he can sweat freely and so can keep up the work rate, and in the winter it’s a real encouragement to keep moving to keep warm.  It also makes it more difficult for the slave to consider attempting to escape, and of course there’s a lot more naked skin for the site overseer to lash if performance is not up to standard.

Some contractors have also found that they can attract business by ensuring their slaves are easy on the eye - after all, the home owner has a choice of contractors and prices are very often similar.  So the prospect of good-looking slaves can be a real selling point - especially if the contractor lets it be known that once the day’s tasks are complete the home owner can use the salves sexually if desired.
