Finally a working prototype!  For many years, the scientific community has been making attempts to fuse technology and biology into a fully functioning cybernetic being.  Since experimentation on humans was strictly forbidden, the scientists felt hamstrung.  With the introduction of white slavery, however and the subsequent reduction of slaves to less than human status, scientific discovery has taken off.
